FLU clinics are currently running at Okehampton Medical Centre to reduce the risk of the virus spreading this winter.

The centre’s flu clinics have already begun for patients aged 65 and above, with the free vaccination set to become available to other high risk groups under-65 in October.

The medical centre will be holding its next flu clinics for the over-65s tomorrow (September 28) and Sunday October 5, with midweek appointments also available.

Appointments can be booked by younger ‘at risk’ patients – including pregnant women and people with heart, kidney or disease – for clinics being held on Saturday, October 19 and Saturday, October 26. Midweek appointments may also be available.

Pop-up flu clinics will be taking place in several village halls this autumn, with no appointment necessary for these walk-in sessions. They are being held between 2pm and 4pm at Sourton (November 7), Belstone (November 14), South Zeal Pavilion (November 21) and Exbourne on November 28.
