LOCAL personal trainers and fitness fanatics are showing that there is no reason to miss out on exercise during ‘lockdown’.

After finding out on March 20 that all gyms were to close the following day, many gym owners had 48 hours to get a plan in place and ‘in-person’ sessions sorted online.

And Nick Lane of NLFitness in Tavistock is one personal trainer to help people from West Devon stay in shape during this uncertain time when it is advised that people need to look after their minds and bodies.

The NLFitness Team has been running sessions everyday for members in its private Facebook group and on video conferencing software Zoom.

Nick said: ‘To keep everyone’s routines the same, we’ve kept all sessions running at the same times and they’re taken live by one of our coaches.

‘The beauty of using the online software is not only can they see us delivering the sessions, but we can still see how they are getting on, hear and speak to them, correct their technique and keep them on track.

‘It’s a tough time for everyone, not only financially but mentally, so to have everyone’s continued support really means a lot. Structured training and exercise is a great way to keep yourself both physically and mentally fit and healthy during these unprecedented times.’
