THE neem tree is native to the Indian sub-continent where it is of considerable economic importance. I am told that its timber is used for the building of houses, and for the provision of firewood. But perhaps more importantly, a herbal preparation is made with neem leaves which is particularly efficacious for sufferers of itchy skin and eczema. It can be bought in Tavistock.
