MEMBERS of the public are being invited to share their thoughts on the future of the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) at one of a number of public consultation events taking place throughout the area in March — and could even win a Champagne picnic cruise. The Tamar Valley AONB team, who work to look after this special landscape, is keen to hear from anyone who lives, works, or has an interest in, the Tamar Valley. The team will use the information gathered to help inform its plan of work, to guide the management of the Valley until 2014. Tamar Valley AONB Manager, Tim Selman, said: 'What we all do across the 165 square miles of rare valley and waterscape is ever-changing and the Tamar Valley AONB team has to carefully balance, meeting the needs of locals and visitors, while ensuring that the special designations within the valley; Sites of Special Scientific Interest, Special Areas for Conservation, and parts of the recently inscribed Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, are understood and respected.' The events will be held on Thursday March 6, 2.30pm to 7.30pm, Town Hall, Tavistock; Tuesday March 11, 2.30pm to 7.30pm, Village Hall, Milton Abbot; Thursday March 13, 2.30pm to 7.30pm, Town Hall, Callington; Saturday March 15, 10.30am to 3.30 pm, Bere Ferrers Parish Hall, Bere Alston; Monday March 17, 2.30pm to 7.30pm, Duchy College, Stoke Climsland If you are unable to attend, but would like to have your say, please visit http://www.tamarvalley.org.uk">www.tamarvalley.org.uk and click on 'One Valley, Many Views'.
