AS the deadline approaches, people across West Devon are being asked to give their views on the borough council's budget for the next financial year by completing a short survey online by tomorrow (Friday).

The council would like residents to have their say on important financial decisions covering a range of issues from spending on day-to-day services to decisions on council tax.

West Devon Borough Council receives just 12% of council tax — £192.15 a year for the average band D property — for providing services such as refuse collection and kerbside recycling, housing, planning, street cleaning and leisure facilities.

As financial belts tighten due to the current economic climate, the council needs to know residents' views on where it should focus its resources.

The answers will help shape the future of West Devon and help the council make some crucial decisions in deciding where its limited funds should go.

The survey needs to be completed by Friday January 13.
