LOCAL residents will get the chance to have their say on enhancing the Tavistock community during a special event on Thursday, June 28.
Tavistock is a great place to live but residents may have ideas for how the community could be even better, so Tavistock Area Christians Together has invited national charity ROC (Redeeming Our Communities) to host a community engagement event at Tavistock Town Hall.
People are invited to sit round a table with other residents, local voluntary groups and public bodies from 7pm to 9pm for the ‘ROC Conversation’.
Councils, the police and West Devon Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) has welcomed the opportunity to be involved. ROC brings a vision for ‘people of goodwill working together for safer, kinder communities’ and experience of running enjoyable, constructive consultations which influence local action.
Debra Green OBE, founder of ROC, and Devon and Cornwall Police Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer plan to be at the Tavistock event.
The event is free, and there are no age limits, but places are limited. Those interested are invited to register in advance at www.roc.uk.com/tavistock or call 0161 393 4511.
