Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 3 Penryn 1 THE Lambs extracted revenge from last week?s fixture at Penryn with a reversal of the score. Glynn Hobbs signed off with a hat-trick before he starts a lengthy suspension that will take him to the end of the season. Last week?s tormentor for the Lambs, James Miller, looked like he was going to continue as he flashed a ball across the face of Andy Meeds? goal in the opening minutes but it was the Lambs who went ahead after just seven minutes. A James Steer cross saw Adcock get control but he seemed to lose possession only to challenge for the ball again for it to fall to Hobbs to blast it low past Chris Symonds low into the bottom corner. Appeals for a penalty were dismissed when Hobbs looked to have been fouled in the area with Babb heading a Shane Krac corner goalwards for John Morris to shoot straight at the keeper before the half-hour. Penryn then had a rich spell of possession with a series of free kicks and corners ending with Miller attempting to chip over Meeds but the keeper did well to claw it away from a certain goal. The Lambs responded as Morris turned in the area to shoot across goal, the ball skimming off the crossbar on the stroke of half-time. The Lambs had chances to wrap the game up in the first 15 minutes of the second half. A high ball forward into the Penryn area saw Adcock chase it down to make keeper Symonds misskick out. The ball fell to Hobbs but his shot back at goal was off target. From a similar attack Hobbs headed into the path of Morris but he blasted over from close range. Miller wasted a chance for the visitors and from a corner Meeds saved the day again with the ball being cleared off the line and Dean Harris shooting wide. The Lambs finally got the cushion of the second goal with 20 minutes remaining. They broke with quick passing between Krac and Morris for the latter to send the ball over the defence to allow Hobbs to race forward from his own area to go on and round the keeper to slot home. The visitors gave themselves a little lifeline with three minutes remaining when Adam Trudgeon crossed for sub Steve Rowson to turn in the area to shoot home but it was short lived as the Lambs regained the two-goal lead a minute after. Adcock gathered the ball out wide on the left to send the ball into the middle for Morris to stride forward and pass to Hobbs to lash home for his and the Lambs? third.
