Okehampton Colts 21 Tavistock Colts 7 OKEHAMPTON Colts found their form at home against a free running Tavistock side. Gary Sizmur sniped and probed at scrum half getting behind the defence along with excellent cover tackling and support. The back row of Paul Lawrence, Neil Perrot and Alex Taylor linked together and roamed the field looking for work. Man of the match Matt Dennis scored the tries and also saved them with a fearless display of tackling from their full back. Tavistock?s half backs and their full back created opportunities with their strong running but the Okehampton backs gave them little space and tackled strongly. The first try went to Okehampton with the forwards making ground with an interplay of passes setting Andy Herrod-Taylor free on the right, working a one two with Sizmur on the outside before drawing the full back and popping the ball inside for Matt Dennis to score under the posts. Tavistock replied through flanker Tom Friend who crashed over from a driven 5 metre lineout for Tom Vanstone to convert. The conversion ? 10 metres from the touchline ? was taken superbly. Okehampton failed in a penalty attempt just before halftime leaving the scores level at the break. Playing downhill Okehampton opened up the centre defence from set piece with Herrod-Taylor at inside centre slicing through, holding the defence and giving the scoring pass to Matt Dennis. Cousin Alex Dennis almost made another try in the corner but put a foot in touch. The final try came after a line out and drive with Herrod-Taylor making the half break before passing out of the tackle to Matt Dennis for his hat trick.
