N4 South Eastern one

Chard B 1

OKEHAMPTON continued to lead the league after this victory which was convincing come the finish.

Simon Bourne opened the scoring with a well taken goal after the hosts had started poorly.

Once in front they started to create a few more clear cut chances and it was only a matter of time before they scored — Luke Miller with a superb reverse stick struck into the top corner.

Still not playing at their best the home side continued to swap players around and a key player and man of the match Nick Luxton was moved into the forward line from his usual defensive midfield role, He made the game safe by half time with an excellent strike.

It was 3-0 to Oke at half time and the visitors hadn't created one chance, Okehampton dominated and got a fourth when Joff Stephens scored and then Josh Speak made it five with a fantastic flick into the top corner from the edge of the area. Miller then cut through the Chard defence again and found Luxton who smashed the ball into the net.

The away side did manage to pull one goal back on the counter attack as Oke lost their concentration. Luxton got his hat-trick when he riffled in a low shot from the top of the area.

Ashmoor B 4

Okehampton 13

THE away side started with total dominance and it took only five minutes for Okehampton to get the first goal with Jake Lloyd scoring from a short corner after a Chris Searle lay off.

The favour was returned just moments later with Searle scoring his first of the day from another short corner.

The Okehampton attack made light work of the Ashmoor defense with both Jake Lloyd and Chris Searle getting their hat-tricks before the half hour mark and Oke were in total control. Despite going six down, Ashmoor didn't lose heart and manage to get one back from a short corner of their own from a drag flick which the Oke keeper could only help the ball in the net.

This sparked a change of tactics from the home side, playing five up front, while these tactics caused problems for the Oke back line it left a lot space for the Oke forwards and this allowed Jake Lloyd to get his fourth after Ashmoor scored a second to leave the scores 7-2 at half time.

The second half was more of the same with Ashmoor playing five in attack but it was Okehampton who were prolific in front of goal with Searle getting his fourth. Jake Lloyd adding another two to his name and the tireless hard work from the wingers of man of the match Adam Cockanye and Toby Lloyd getting their efforts rewarded with a brace from Cockanye and Lloyd scoring from a short corner to seal the rout.

Oke Columbines 4

Mannamead ladies seconds 2

OKEHAMPTON started the game energetically with attack Kim Davey And Jo Moppet working well as a pair taking on Mannamead's defence.

It was not long before Moppet broke through the defence at lightening speed creating Okehampton's first goal. Defence Rachel Hammett and Jane Jones worked well as a pair fighting off the visitors' attack, however with the weather working against both teams Mannamead managed to grab a goal.

Oke's Carol Taylor used great initiative creating spaces for team-mate Alex Collins to score a swift goal against Mannamead. Mannamead fought back and goalie Sophie Whitely made some great saves but could not keep out one attack in which Mannamead managed to level.

At half time both teams came back fighting; with a draw looking likely Oke's Jo Moppett made an incredible run up the pitch to create an excellent goal. With only a few minutes to go Sarah Jones and Sarah Toms both made some great passes allowing Alex Collins to hit the back of the net and make it 4-2 to the home team.
