North Okes U11s 36
Crediton U11s 12
ANOTHER win for the combined team. But Crediton were short of players, and borrowed three from the North Okes to make it XI-a-side.
Due to the condition of the pitch, this was never going to be a fast, free-flowing game. North Okes were further disadvantaged when they were reduced to ten players, due to Sam Robinson leaving the field with an injury to her neck.
But this did not dampen the home team?s spirit. Merrick Kirby was unlucky not to score, before two quick tries, both from Andrew North, one of which he converted, gave the home side an early lead.
Darcy Heard forced his way over for another try, before a lapse in defence allowed Crediton back with a try of their own, making it 19-7 at the interval.
North Okes raised their game in the second half. Will Hawkin and Andrew Fishliegh had superb games, stealing much of the visitors? ball.
Heard made a break from his own half, broke several attempted tackles before touching down for his second try.
At the kick-off, Heard caught the ball again, went through most of the visiting team and passed inside to Fishleigh who was tackled short of the line.
From the ruck, Hawkin forced his way over for a well deserved try. North completed his hat-trick with a well taken try.
Crediton scored a consolation try right on the final whistle.
