CHILDREN from Exbourne Primary School were given the chance to listen to a harpist play as part of a recent music workshop.
The workshop was given by harpist Harriet Adie under the Two Moors Festival music education scheme and was attended by the whole school.
Penny Adie, artistic director of the Two Moors Festival, said: ?The children were excited and gobsmacked to see a real live concert harp at their school. They asked all kinds of questions and were privileged to hear jazz as well as classical music.
?They were shown how the harp works and were asked to throw ideas to the harpist on how to play different moods ? the only one which almost caused confusion was the request to play ?dead?.?
The festival?s music education scheme has held workshops in many different schools reaching hundreds of youngsters.
As part of the summer music workshop programme, visits to Hatherleigh and South Tawton are planned.
