FOLLOWING last week's appeal in the Times for sponsors to help Tavistock's Olympic pentathlete Kate Allenby compete in the Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Australia in November, one group has offered to put on a fund-raising event if they can find a couple of available fields.

P A Nelson, of Happy Campers, said the group put on entertainment and refreshments to raise money for various charities and causes and would like to help Kate. Members of the club and friends pay and donate money. A small sound system is used, and entertainment includes acts such as jugglers.

If anyone has a couple of fields which the club could use from a Saturday afternoon to a Sunday afternoon they are asked to contact Mr Nelson on 01822 610844.
