IF you have apple trees that need pruning but are not quite sure how to do it, let an expert show you how in the orchards at Tavy Valley in Yelverton.
The Tavy and Tamar Apple Group has arranged a Winter Apple Pruning Day on Sunday January 31 to teach visitors how to prune in a hands-on course.
This practical day will teach visitors the pruning of neglected trees and the formative pruning of younger trees.
The one-day course costs £16 to members of the Tavy and Tamar Apple Group, and £18 to non-members.

For people who are more experienced at caring for apple trees, The Tavy and Tamar Apple Group will be holding a grafting course at Endsleigh Nurseries in Milton Abbot on Monday February 8.
Experts from Endsleigh will show visitors how to graft trees and answer any questions. There will also be rootstocks available for purchase.
The course will cost £7.50 to members and £8.50 to non-members.
