THE town council could potentially revise its charges for use of the Charter Hall following its refurbishment.

Over the last few months, the hall has undergone an extensive series of renovations to modernise the venue and make it fit to purpose for a wider range of events.

The council has set up a working party to examine the current fees and charges for hiring the hall, to see if they should remain the same or be adjusted due to the improved facilities on offer.

Okehampton mayor Cllr Rev Mike Davies said: 'The work on the hall has been great, but it is now about knowing what to do, now it is in its new brilliant state.'

As well as looking at fees, the council will look at new ways to market the hall as a venue for wedding receptions and other functions.

The hall brochure advertising the facilities will be updated with new pictures and information.

The updated hall is to be officially opened on Saturday, February 16 at the annual mayoral coffee morning from 9am to noon.

Everyone is welcome to attend the morning to meet councillors and discuss issues affecting them, or just to see the alterations to the hall.
