STAFF at Farmer Luxton's butchers in Okehampton have done their bit to raise awareness of men's health issues by growing moustaches and taking part in the Movember campaign.
Staff have grown moustaches, or worn fake ones, as part of the campaign to promote awareness, particularly of prostate and testicular cancers. Across the country, thousands of men grow a moustache throughout November and raise money as part of Movember month.
The team has raised £200, which will be donated to programmes run directly by the Movember campaign and their men's health partners, Prostate Cancer UK and the Institute of Cancer Research.
Stuart Luxton, who runs the business, said: 'We wanted to support the Movember campaign and all the staff have been great, getting involved and being good sports.
'We have raised the money with a pot on the counter. We have not put pressure on anyone to donate as I don't think that's the right way to do it, but customers have been very generous, and to raise £200 is a great effort.
'I might keep my moustache going for a little bit longer, but I know some of the guys in here will be shaving them off the second they get home!
'The pot will be in the shop for the next few days to try and raise the total even higher, so if people want to come in and give something, no matter how small, that would be great.'
