TAVISTOCK Library is seeking a new 'Poet Laureate' — to commemorate the opening of the town's new library.

The library is to launch the competition today (Thursday) — National Poetry Day.

It will run until December 24 and poets will be asked to write a poem on the theme of the new library, expected to open in the spring.

There are two categories — over 16 and under. Each winner will win a £10 book token. Entry forms are available from the library.

l The library is throwing open its doors to those wishing to have a taste of the Internet and e-mail tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday. There will also be craft activities and a storytime for the children.
