THROUGHOUT this month, Curves in Tavistock will be collecting non-perishable food for the 16th Annual Curves Food Drive.
Curves, on Westbridge Industrial Estate, will waive its service fee for new members up until March 31 in return for one bag on non-perishable food. The amount collected will be donated to Tavistock Food Bank. Existing members will also be encouraged to donate non-perishable food to the charity.
Jackie, manager at Curves, said: 'Collecting non-perishable food during the annual food drive is something which unites the Curves community globally and we're delighted to be involved with the food drive, whose goals of supporting and strengthening people in the local community match Curves' core values extremely well.'
Curves has been collecting and donating to charities during the annual food drive for the past six years. Curves members worldwide have donated more than 27.7-million kilos of food since 2004, enough to feed 1.85-million people for a week
