MEMBERS of Tavistock Gymnastics Club held a special presentation to mark the retirement of Caroline Jennings, who has been the club's valued coach for 13 years.
Tavistock's town mayor Cllr Robin Pike and his wife Diane, together with and past and present TGC committee members, were at Tavistock College, to thank Caroline for her hard work and dedication.
The mayor and Mrs Pike, who have long been associated with the club, presented the senior gymnasts with their British Gymnastic Association awards before handing Caroline a plaque as a token of thanks for all her hard work and dedication to the club.
Nicola Davidson, the club chair, entertained the gymnasts with a lively speech during which Caroline was presented with gifts and flowers from the gymnasts.
Thanks were also given to Mr Jennings for his support of the club.
The gymnasts were delighted to receive individual gifts of skipping ropes from Caroline to reinforce the message of fitness and fun.
Fortunately the club will not be losing her services completely as she will be assisting with the junior section as much as possible.
Nicola Lilley will be taking over as club coach after Easter. She has been working with the gymnasts since Christmas and members wish her every success in her new post.
