THIS week sees the return of the Tavistock Embroiderers' Fair at the town hall after a year's absence.

The event is on tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday from 9.30am to 5pm.

Many of the traders are local to the area and stalls will stock everything to do with embroidery. There will also be the Embroiderers' Guild bookshop and members of the guild, stitching and talking about the organisation, which has a high profile in the town.

On display, at the top of the stairs, is a large embroidery depicting 1,000 years of the town's history which was given to Tavistock in 2000. The names of all the embroiderers are written on the back of the work. There will also be a small  exhibition of Diana Springall's work.
