WEST Devon residents are being given the chance to enjoy a guided tour around one of their market towns next week.
The Okehampton branch of the Devonshire Association, in conjunction with the Hatherleigh History Society, would like to welcome people to Hatherleigh on Thursday, August 28.
The history society will be leading people on the Hatherleigh Town Trail with a visit to St John's Church.
The Devonshire Association is unique in the country for the breadth of its interests and for bringing together amateurs and professionals.
Their areas of expertise include botany, buildings, history, literature, folklore, dialect, geology and entomology.
Anyone who wishes to join them on the Hatherleigh town trail should meet in Hatherleigh square at 6.50pm. There is no charge but donations are gratefully received.
