A WEST Devon girl has been awarded a place on an international guiding trip this summer. Sara Lake, 15, is a Baden Powell Guide as well as a ranger and young leader with the Rainbows. Sara, who lives in Tavistock, will be going to 'Our Chalet' in Adelboden, Switzerland, which is one of the four World Guiding Centres. In order to raise £500 for the trip, the Devonport High School for Girls student is organising different fundraising activities, including a jumble sale at the Methodist Church Hall, Chapel Street in Tavistock on Saturday, March 1 at 10am. The 4th Tavistock Guides will be providing refreshments and organising a cake stall during the event.
