Bodmin Trophies Duchy League
division 4 east
Torpoint 1
Mary Tavy 5
THE celebrations of completing the double over Torpoint in a few weeks were somewhat overshadowed as Mary Tavy saw two of their regulars taken off in separate ambulances in the first 30 minutes of action.
First to go was captain James Terry who broke a wrist and he was soon followed by playmaker Dominic Reeves who suffered a nasty gash to his leg.
Torpoint fielded a changed side to that which was substantially beaten 9-1 at the Coronation Field and looked determined that this game was not going to follow suit.
But Alan Grylls had other ideas and after opening the scoring fired home a second with a volley straight from a corner.
James Coole, who worked tirelessly all afternoon, struck after the break before Torpoint pulled one back. But as the game drew to a close, Mary Tavy commanded play. Sam Pridham added a fourth and there was just time for Grylls to celebrate yet another hat-trick.
