GRUB Up have run away with the Tavistock seven a side football league title by a massive 14 points! Congratulations, say organisers, go to captain Scott Dent and his team 'Grub Up' for the way they have secured this league title.
BA Galaxy's Will Pike netted 31 times this season to make him top goal scorer.
Barry Mountstevens, the Tavistock College Sports Club manager, said: 'The huge margin between Grub Up and second place does not bare a true reflection of the season's proceedings. They were held closely by the surrounding teams of 'COSS', 'Crystal City' and 'Lamerton' for a large proportion of the season, although results began to wane for these teams in the latter stages whereas Grub Up managed to maintain their superb form to run away with the league having only one loss to their name and the rest wins.
Barry added: This season, the league has been a huge success for everyone involved and the Sports Centre would like to extend their thanks and well wishes to all of the teams for their participation and in particular to the referees for whom this league would not be able to run without their continued support.'
