BARRATT Homes has joined forces with South Tawton Primary School to help it create its very own piece of Devon.

Children and teachers at the school are building a miniature garden, which reflects the flora and fauna of the region? complete with its own ?Devon bank? and cottage.

To get the project started, Barratt Homes Exeter has donated topsoil from its local Manor View development and helped children plant the first addition to the garden ? an oak tree sapling.

Martin Unwin, head teacher at the school, is hoping the garden will be ready for the children to enjoy in time for summer.

?Perhaps you are a local garden centre who can provide primrose or heathers, or an expert on traditional Devon stone-walling?

Whatever your contribution we are keen to hear from you,? he said.

Bob Douglas, sales director, at Barratt Homes Exeter, said: ?The project is a really great way of teaching the children about the importance of maintaining their local environment, so we?re only too happy to help.

?With the foundations laid, what the children need now is plants, shrubs and flowers to make their Devonshire garden complete.?
