With the appetite for local, seasonal produce on the rise, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) kicks off its 2010 Grow Your Own Campaign on March 6 with a special open day at RHS Garden Rosemoor, Great Torrington.
The day is designed to inspire everyone to have a go at 'grow your own' and to celebrate the start of the growing year.
Many people like the idea of growing their own, but are not sure where to start, so the RHS Grow Your Own day is the ideal place to get inspiration from the experts, and there will be plenty for the seasoned gardener too.
The open day will give everyone a chance to get one-to-one advice from RHS experts, as well as talks, planting demonstrations, garden walks, fruit and vegetable displays and cookery demonstrations by Chef's Corner.
There are also plenty of activities such as seed-sowing and trails for the children, making it a great day out for all the family!
Entry is just £1 (aged 6 and above) the day will be free to RHS members and there will be free entry on the day to anyone coming by bus. (presentation of ticket from 315 Stagecoach bus Barnstaple – Exeter route which stops right outside gates).
