THE sun shone on Walkhampton Primary School's successful summer fair last Saturday.

Refreshments included wonderful cakes baked by the parents and a barbecue, while many enjoyed a not so quiet pint.    The band, Crisis, was excellent as was one of the mums, Claire Bruff, who busked in the village hall throughout the afternoon.

One of the high spots of the day was the winning of the lucky programme draw by nonagenarians who say they will be spending their prize as soon as possible.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and parental support, just under £2,000 was raised for school funds.
