MILTON Abbot Village Show was held on Saturday, September 10, with a misty start to the day.

The displays came in as numerous as last year. Despite the weather over the last two weeks, the flower display was amassing, but the vegetables had suffered resulting in fewer exhibits.

The cookery section had many an appetising entry. The handicraft, art as well as the floral art sections showed off the ability of local people. The judges of the children's section stood many a time pondering who to award a prize to, as the efforts were very commendable. Well done the junior participants for their wonderful creations such as the crazy jellies and funny faces, to mention but two.

The afternoon cheered up with the sun appearing and everyone coming to have a look at the many entries. The Friends of the Tamar Valley came with a display and competition, guess the weight of the salmon, enjoying refreshments in the sun, raffle and the possibility to visit the cider press gave everyone something to enjoy.
