MID Devon Pony Club members produced some great results at the annual Inter Area Tetrathlon Competition held last week at Stockland Lovell. There were almost 280 competitors with branch teams from as far afield as Pembroke to the West and Cowdray to the East and as usual they were provided with a superb venue and a very challenging course. In a very strong Junior Boys class Will Leach produced his best ever shoot, scoring 900 points and followed this up with a perfect clear round over Stockland Lovell?s challenging course. He did brilliantly to score over 4,000 points, sadly just missing the places. With 70 competitors in the Junior Girls class it was good to see two local girls vying for the top two places. Charlotte Rowe had the best swim in the class, but after riding a great clear round, she was still 28 points behind Alice Shepherd of the Eggesford PC at the start of the running phase. She then produced a stunning PB run to overtake Alice and just win the competition. Fellow team members Lucy Almond and Jessica Mortimore were also on top form; Lucy having a PB run and swim and then riding clear, and Jess having PBs in her shoot, swim and run ? a great performance. Charlotte and Alice were both members of the Area 16 Junior Girls team that won the Inter Area competition.
