THE miserable weather was not enough to dampen the spirits of people who gathered in a West Devon churchyard at the weekend to be entertained by a musical charity event.
More than £500 was raised at the event in St Eustachius' Churchyard in Tavistock, where visitors braved the rain to enjoy free live music by acts, including Judy Pratt, Paul Dobbie, Peter Jenkins and event organiser Daniel Kemish.
The event raised £502.47, which will be split between Cancer Research UK, the Chestnut Appeal and St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth.
Daniel said: 'I can't believe how generous everyone has been. To raise so much money on such a grim day is amazing. Thanks to everyone involved.'
Daniel also thanked St Eustachius' Church for the use of the churchyard, to Café Liaison for supplying the power for the event, to all the musicians who played and to Lisa Jane Wearing, Laura Nickel and Jodie Mount who collected donations on the day.
