INTERNATIONAL singer-songwriter Geraldine Latty is to visit Tavistock over the weekend of May 17 and 18, to lead music and worship workshops at Tavistock Methodist Church. The workshops will be held on the Saturday, as well as a free gospel singing session in the evening. Geraldine will also be involved in the church service on the Sunday. David Stolton, one of TMC's ministers, said: 'The gospel singing session is an exciting opportunity for budding gospel singers to come along and experience being part of a scratch gospel choir assembled for the night. No previous experience is necessary — if you can sing in the shower, you can sing gospel with Geraldine.' Geraldine was a music teacher in Bristol until 2000, but now leads worship at major national and international conferences, as well as in her local church. She works with youth groups and teenage mums using drama and music, runs a community gospel choir in Bristol and has appeared on BBC's Songs of Praise. She has released 3 solo albums and has contributions on 19 others. For further information or to book onto the workshops (priced £5 for the day) visit the events page at http://www.tmc.me.uk">www.tmc.me.uk, or call into Revolution in Russell Street. The evening gospel sing is free and starts at 7pm.
