FOLLOWING the success of a great day's racing at Cherrybrook Point to Point, Spooners and West Dartmoor Hunt is now looking forward to its annual country show at Bickham Park, Roborough.
The show takes place on Sunday, April 28, starting at 9.30am. The event is sign-posted off the A386 between Plymouth and Yelverton.
A spokesperson for Spooners said: 'We have a fabulous venue in the Deer Park at Bickham Estate, Roborough, providing ample parking for all, with easy access, on site facilities, catering and bar.
'This is a great day out for all the family with children's entertainment and stalls.
'The 2013 Show promises to be bigger and better than previous years with the addition of the lurcher and terrier shows and lurcher racing, as well as the family dog show.
'We will be holding the side saddle classes including one in costume, which has always proven to be very popular with the spectators.'
The show has classes for all ponies and horses, from Dartmoor hill pony to re-trained Race Horses, from clear round, nursery stakes and gymkhana to show jumping over some of the best jumps.
The supreme championship prize of £100 is kindly sponsored by the Blacksmiths Arms in Lamerton and a meal voucher for the local champion is kindly sponsored by The Moorland Garden Hotel.
The spokesperson added: 'We have a parade of hounds in the main ring at 12.30pm, where children are welcome to enter the ring to smooth and pet the hounds.'
A donation from the show will this year go to Children's Hospice South West.
