YOUNGSTERS in Tavistock are in for a treat on June 1, when they will be given the chance to take part in a free day of summer activities at The Meadows from 12pm to 2pm. Parents, families and children of all ages are invited to join in for a day of circus skills, clay modelling, parachute games, story-telling, music and a whole range of other exciting events organised by Devon County Council and the early development partnership Zero 14 Plus. For older children there will be a separate DJ and video workshop and the first 100 children who attend the day will be given free entry to a wet n? wild session taking place in Meadowlands swimming pool from 2.30pm to 5pm. The event is part of a nationwide campaign taking place during Sure Start Month, when a series of open days and events will be held to raise awareness among parents of the services available to them from childcare and early education to health and family support.
