THE organisers of the Tavy 7 Road Race wish to place on record their gratitude for all the help that the local community gave to make the recent race such a success.
Our thanks go to Mr and Mrs Donne and Whitchurch Wayfarers Cricket Club for allowing us to use their ground and pavilion, to 1st Tavistock Scouts for lending tables and chairs, to John Collacott for lending PA equipment, to St John Ambulance for attending, Tavistock Town Council for permission to use Whitchurch Down and last, but by no means least our sponsors, Mansbridge and Balment, Abbey Garden Machinery, Active Co, Colin Smith and Co, the Rosemont Guest House Yelverton, and Brooks.
We must also thank the literally hundreds of local runners who competed in the main race, and all the mums, dads and children who took part in the Fun Run.
The funds raised will go towards expanding our junior section (8-17), coaching courses, and to cover the extra expenditure we anticipate having when the athletics track is completed next Easter.
