THE Crowndale Recreational Association (CRA) and, in particular, its junior football clubs, Tavistock Thistles, Tavistock Jets and Tavistock Girls, wish to record our gratitude to Tavistock Town Council for their recent grant payment of £15,000 towards our further efforts to provide much-needed outdoor sports facilities in the Crowndale Valley.
This money has been accrued over the last five years through town councillors annually maintaining a pledge to assist the CRA.
It is something which has raised our spirits every year and has helped the association to keep going through some difficult times.
As your readers will have read through the Times, there is now a co-ordinated effort to lodge a bid during 2003 for a circa £1-million scheme in the Crowndale Valley for improved facilities at Crowndale, Langsford Park and Tavistock College.
