OKEHAMPTON District Community Transport Group's funds will be boosted by a £500 grant from Okehampton Town Council.
At a meeting of the council's policy and resources committee on Monday, members agreed to give the group the money towards operational costs such as the running of the bus and the cost of drivers and co-ordinators.
The group, which is based at the Ockment Centre, received a similar amount from the town council in July 2008.
The committee also granted £500 to the Meldon Viaduct Company Limited towards the repair funds of the 100 year old viaduct.
Councillor Charles Letchford, chairman of the committee, agreed that the general maintenance of the structure must cost 'an arm and a leg' and that it was important for the town to support the viaduct as it was such an important tourist attraction.
