The West Country Jockey and 1989 Grand National winner, Jimmy Frost, will be starting off a charity horse ride across Dartmoor.

Jimmy Frost, who also won the 1991 Champion Hurdle, has agreed to start the 20 mile ride, and help to raise publicity of the event.

The horse ride has been organised by Allen Lewis, the commercial manager of Tavistock AFC and secretary of Tavistock Youth Café plus for special needs children, to raise funds for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust.

From the horse ride, Allen is hoping to raise £5,000 for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust, which takes place on Sunday March 28.

Allen, together with Cathy Sharp chair of Tavistock Youth Café Plus, have expressed thanks to Kerry and Sonny, the owners of sports shop Active Co, for their service and support throughout 2009, and wish them well on the shops move to Duke Street.
