DEN BROOK Valley Action Group, set up to oppose plans to build wind turbines on land near North Tawton, held its grand gala recently. The event (pictured) at Spreyton Village Hall featured video horse racing, a buffet supper, and a quiz. The action group is also supporting a new musical farce about the subject of wind turbines which is coming to the Plough Arts Centre at Torrington next month. The Wind Thing by author and composer Henry Lewis was officially launched in Great Torrington on April 27. The light-hearted revue, which has already generated plenty of hot air in London, is coming to the Plough for two nights next month, as part of the North Devon Festival.
