Kelly College 1st XI 1

Truro School 1st XI 2

KELLY made a promising start with slick and accurate passing against a forceful Truro side. Although Truro scored first, after an outstanding penalty corner, Kelly's spirit was far from dampened.

Penetration was found down the right flank as Kelly endeavoured to press home some sustained periods of possession. This bore fruit after a sublime move along the right flank where Gary Uglow battled to bring about a superb reverse stick finish from centre forward, William Chan. This brought the scores level but Kelly continued to be pressurised by a talented Truro half line, resulting in a second Truro goal.

At the start of the second half, Kelly switched play between the flanks. The game was a real team effort but the performance of the afternoon had to go to newly discovered goalkeeper, William Grainger, who on countless occasions prevented Truro from scoring more frequently.
