A TAVISTOCK go-kart racer is aiming to follow in the tyre treads of Formula One boy-wonder Jenson Button.
Graham Beasley has been invited to take part in the Kästner Kartmaster 2000 series for high-powered 125cc and 100cc karts at the Dunkeswell Kart Club near Honiton.
These Rotax-powered karts are said to be as fast as a Ferrari to 100mph and pull 2G through the corners.
All the current crop of F1 drivers began their careers driving in this form of kart racing, said Mr Beasley. Jenson Button did his racing at Dunkerswell.
Racing for the championship takes place on June 25, July 30, August 27 and September 24. The overall winner will win £250 and a crystal trophy.
