A STUDENT at Shebbear College will run the 2013 London Marathon to raise money for charity.
Grace Beal is to run the race to raise money for Scope, a charity that supports mentally and physically disabled people and their families. She has chosen to run for the charity after it supported her grandmother, who suffered from vascular dementia.
Grace said: 'I have chosen to do the London Marathon as I see it as an event that will allow people to see the effort I will put in to raise money for such a fantastic charity. It's also an event that many people aspire to do and I would like to say that I have completed and finished it.
'I have always wanted to do the London Marathon since a very young age when I first started running. Now I have the opportunity to not just run it for fun, but also to raise money.
'Scope is a charity that is very close to my heart. This is the first event I have done for them and hopefully I can do a bit more.'
