A NEW chair of governors has taken up the role at Tavistock's Kelly College.

David Milford stood down in the summer after eleven years at the helm.

His replacement is Chillaton man Rear Admiral Chris Snow CBE DL.

Chris has lived in Chillaton for the last 25 years and his children both attended the school.

Having left the Navy in 2011 as Plymouth-based Flag Officer Sea Training, he is now a Deputy Lieutenant of Devon and on the Northern Devon Healthcare Board. as well as Kelly's Chair of Governors.

Chris is clear about Kelly's future.

He said: 'Kelly College is a brilliant school at both prep and senior level.

'The results this year in A levels and GCSE stand for themselves in showing the quality of a Kelly education.

'Add into the mix the superb co-curricular programme, refurbished boarding facilities and an international level swimming programme, the whole makes a wonderful organisation to chair.

'I am looking forward to playing my part in ensuring Kelly's strong and vibrant future.'
