THE 20th anniversary of the charity Dartmoor Jailbreak takes place next year ? and the organisers are challenging teams to make the event a date to remember.
The race to get as far away from Dartmoor Prison as possible, whether by travelling up and down the length and breadth of the UK or to the other side of the world, raises money for Exeter?s Vranch House School and Centre for children with cerebral palsy and other physical difficulties.
Money raised by teams of two or more may also be split 50/50 with any other charities.
Many teams have secured entries in the Jailbreak Book of Records while ?on the run?, the only rules being they must not pay for transport and must not break the law.
Records include raising £31,780 by a company from Plymouth, visiting 21 countries by Torbay Police, travelling 11,916 miles to Auckland by a team of grannies from South Devon, and visiting 53 premiership and league football grounds in 48 hours by a team from Paignton.
The 20th Dartmoor Jailbreak takes place on Saturday April 26 2003 ? for an entry form and application pack, call Sue Gould on 01392 873543 or e-mail
