The final Westward League meeting of the season was held at Bicton Arena with running clubs from across the South West competing for medal places. Conditions were good and despite the recent rain the ground was firm on most parts of the course. The turnout of runners was low and the Tavistock contingent was depleted with many of the club's junior athletes having run for Devon on the previous day. In the first race of the day the U17s ran with the senior ladies and Matt McNamara-Waddington and Owen Drage ran well over the long course to finish in seventh and eighth respectively. In the U17 ladies Laura Aspen recorded her best place of the season finishing in fourth place. The senior ladies were led home by Heather Fell who had a storming finish also in fourth place followed by Rebecca Deane in 16th place and Sam Eggins in overall 20th place. In the U13 girls' event Emma Champion and Annabel Longden earned valuable points for the Tavistock club with Annabel finishing in ninth — just one place ahead of Emma. In the U13 boys event again just two runners flew the flag for Tavistock with Seth McNamara- Waddington finishing 11th, one place ahead of Sam Lloyd. In the senior men's event Richard Drage had another good race finishing in seventh place and consolidating his lead in the Vet 45 category. Chris Champion produced a season's best finish in eighth with Martin Exley in 13th, Rupert Warren in 15th, Tony Symons in 19th, Adam Holland in 20th place, Charlie Lloyd in 27th place, Robin Musgrave in 35th place and Peter Bazely in 44th place. In the final event Rebecca Windemer had another excellent run finishing in second in the U15 girls' race with Nick Champion finishing in fourth in the U15 boys' race followed by Sam Straughan in seventh and Ben Brown in tenth.
