THE inaugural Okehampton Golf Club Junior Championship Day took place on Sunday. The event managed to dodge the predicted heavy rain and a good turnout enjoyed fine golfing conditions with separate competitions for each Junior division.
The Junior Champion trophy, awarded to the best scratch score for 36 holes medal, was won by Steven Hill, the current Junior captain, with a score of 158. The Chris Hurley Shield, awarded to the best handicap score for 36 holes medal, was won by Sean Bennett with a net score of 115.
The Okement Salver was awarded for the best score in handicap group 29 to 36, this was won by Merrick Kirby with a score of 41 pts. The Tiger Trophy for the best score in handicap group 37 to 54, this was won by Jordan Lee with 41 pts.

East Devon Junior League, Final Standings
The East Devon Junior League went right down to the wire this year with Okehampton and Downes Crediton both in with a chance of the title entering the last event at Tiverton. The Downes Crediton team eventually won with Okehampton getting the runners up spot. The Okehampton Team had a great year and were never out of the top two places all season long. Special mention must go to Darren Prouse of Okehampton who was the top points scorer in the league with 305 pts. The Okehampton team for the season was ? Steven Hill, Darren Prouse, James Weller, Dean Rice, James Hall, Ricky Wooldridge, Tom Rattenbury, Sean Bennett, Jonny Rattenbury, Jonny Weller, Gary Sizmur.

Devon County Junior Golf Society Autumn Meeting
The DCJGS held their Autumn meeting at Tiverton this year. Good results for Okehampton players were achieved by Ricky Wooldridge who was second in his
division with 45 pts and Jonny Rattenbury who was fourth in his division with 40 pts.
