TAVISTOCK made the best possible start to their season, taking an early lead after only five minutes. McPherson?s cross from the left found Paul Hoskin 12 yards out where he smashed the ball into the bottom left corner.
Tavistock dominated until midway through the half, then mistakes cost them dear, leaving them 4-1 down at the break.
But back they came two minutes after the break, Blatchford?s 25 yard free kick found the back of the net. Minutes later it was Blatchford again. His powerful shot was only partly saved and McPherson tapped in from two yards.
Tavistock continued to press the home side and were back on level terms in the 80th minute.
Vanstone?s free kick was only half saved by the keeper and Darren Woolly was on hand to tap in. With seconds left on the clock Tavistock thought they had won the game, but Woolly?s goal was disallowed.
Tavistock AFC are away on Saturday to Eurodash FC, kick off 2.30pm.
