MORE than £5,600 was raised at the annual golf day for West Devon based charity CHICKS at Trethorne Golf Club near Launceston. Twenty five teams took part in the competition and after five hours on the course, Phil Spry of Sprys in Launceston and his team took home the CHICKS cup. The charity provides free respite breaks to disadvantaged children from across the UK at its two specially designed sites. Thanks have been expressed to everyone who took part in the event. CHICKS will be holding a sponsored forwards or backwards abseil event at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth on June 23 for those aged ten plus. For more information, contact 01822 811108.
