CLLR DICK Hoile, Chairman of Calstock Parish Council, presented a bouquet of golden flowers on behalf of the council and the people of Calstock Parish to Charles and Sheila Smith, of The Orchard, Gunnislake, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary recently.

The couple were married at Saltash Register Office on December 10, 1960 and have four children, seven grand children and one great grand daughter.

They say that the secret of a long and happy marriage is 'a little bit of give and take'.
