GLASSES were raised this week to Tavy Ales Limited of Peter Tavy, who enjoyed success at the Society of Independent Brewers South West regional festival and competition.

SIBA judges awarded Tavy Ales gold and silver for their entries at the event held at Tuckers Maltings in Newton Abbot.

Its Tavy Porter won a silver in the best overall beer with 260 different beers competing for the prestigious award.

Tavy Porter also won gold in the posters, stouts, old ales and strong milds section.

Tavy Ales Limited, which has brewing premises at Belliver industrial estate, Roborough, have only been trading since July 2012.

The company stock in many local shops and pubs in West Devon and are involved with several of Tavistock's local business support endeavours such as Tavistock buy local, Enterprise hub and Tamar Valley grow local campaigns.
