TAVISTOCK Athletic Club is hosting an open evening on Tuesday, November 22 to which all local people aged over 8 are invited.

There will be a wide variety of events on the track for all ages from 75 metres to 1,500 metres plus the shot, long jump and vortex throw. If you, or your children would like to have a go or if you would like to see what it is like to run on the superb synthetic track, come down to Tavistock College for the 6.30pm start. The races will be graded so you will not have to run against seasoned athletes . A £3 entry fee will entitle you to take part in three events if you wish, with registration in the equipment store on the back straight. The club hopes that lots of non members in the area will come and have a go!

If road or off road running is more to your taste, the club has five running groups which meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.15pm in the Sports Centre with long runs on Sundays. There are also track sessions, open to non members of all abilities, for ladies on Saturday mornings from 10 am and for men on Monday evenings from 8 pm.
