THE Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is inviting people in West Devon to 'Push the Boat Out' on Saturday, May 18 when a host of water sports can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Events will take place at the South West Lakes Trust's Roadford Lake and Weir Quay Sailing Club at Bere Alston.
At Roadford Lake the fun starts at 10am until 4.30pm where there will be exciting, and free, opportunities to try both sailing and windsurfing on the reservoir.
Visitors will be able to check out the club facilities and take advantage of promotional discounts on a range of RYA certified training courses.
At Weir Quay, the fun will run from 11am until 2pm where there will be opportunities to learn more about sailing on the River Tamar and about what the club can offer.
Trips in dinghies and small cruisers will be available and there will be a barbecue.
Whether completely new to the sport, looking to get back on the water, or sail regularly, RYA 'Push the Boat Out' will see hundreds of people taking part in the sport at the open days.
Jon White, RYA sport development manager, said: 'Following the huge success of the 2012 Sail for Gold Push the Boat Out Day which we ran ahead of the London 2012 Games, we are delighted that the event is back for 2013 — and this time for a whole weekend!'
